Staff received team development training; Team leaders, leadership training; and the general manager and senior staff, executive coaching. “Grass Routes worked with me and the Work Programme Team for over 2 years in a coaching and development capacity. I would have no problem with recommending Grass Routes and have found that they quickly identify crucial issues, challenges appropriately and guide suitably. The team have proven skills sets that include communication, planning and delivering management support programmes. Feedback from team members regarding the support received includes 'empathic', 'get to the heart of the matter' and 'provide a way forward". |

Following the publication of an extensive staff survey, presenting many challenges, our role was to support the CEO and the Executive Management Team over a two year period to ensure the smooth transition of the organisation from the public to the private sector. The assignment involved 1:1 coaching for all of the senior staff, facilitating executive and senior management focus groups. Working with a very large and cumbersome and politicised board of trustees and working with team leaders to enhance the required skills sets. The staff survey which followed our input reflected the improvements that had been made and has led to the expansion and success of this now fully independent housing trust. |

This 3 year assignment, was to deliver a stepped award for rangers in Scotland that could be used across Scotland by the disparate groups that provide ranger services.
Following a review of past failures, we produced a suite of core skills and competencies applicable to Rangers across the full range of Ranger employers. This also included the research and development of a core development programme for rangers, linked to the National Ranger Training programme and a system of accredited continuing professional development. We interviewed a wide range of partners, ranging from the large metropolitan authorities to private estates, to draw up a list of core skills and competencies and develop a code of practice. "In the past three years we have engaged Grass Routes as consultants on two related projects. In the first, they helped develop proposals for a programme of Continuing Professional Development for Rangers in Scotland as part of a Ranger Standards Manual and latterly, Steve is working as a lead consultant in helping to deliver pilots of this work. Grass Routes came to Rangers with a limited awareness of what we do, but quickly came up to speed and has brought his skills and expertise in training and professional development support to the field helping guide and develop an innovative product which has been well received.
