Team Days
Grass Routes has been delivering team days for more than 25 years. Working with groups varying in size from 200 people to smaller 10.
Our clients keep coming back for more. They include: Hewlett Packard, Airbus, Rotork, NHS, Electricity Companies, National Westminster Bank, Lloyds bank, Royal bank of Scotland, Wessex Water, Bristol Water, Hewlett Packard, Halford's, Software companies, Millfield, Avon and Somerset Constabulary, Unifi, Prospects and many other smaller clients.
Our team days, at home & abroad are designed with you to meet your needs. Our days range from the high octane - working with Helicopters and Honda pilots through to more modest events, such as cake making in teams.
Whilst all of our team days are great fun their content and style vary, with some clients needing more serious events with all of their team activities reviewed and management theory models used. Others simply want a fun day out as a reward for their hard-working staff.
We are comfortable with either approach.

Why Team Days?
In the past corporate off-sites have been used as rewards for teams and organisations who have been doing well. Whilst this is still true there are now knew reasons to be thinking very carefully about running team days.
During the Co vid 19 lockdown whilst many people experienced the benefits of working from home, there has been a negative impact on teams. Many will recognise the fact that there are no longer the short conversations that happen in the coffee room or by another person’s desk, others report a lack of diamond dynamism and creativity resultant from the lack of interaction, and many unfortunately are reporting a rise in the level of mental illness within the workforce.
Visionary companies whose workforce are going to carry on working from home will need to provide team days with budgets to support them on a regular basis. The benefits are obvious and have been known about by people working in virtual teams for a very long time. (See the Rotork example). Our team days can be a whole day or as part of the day augmenting a larger event and providing some light and fun entertainment!

We are often called upon to augment programmes that are being run internally. One instance of this was our work with a group within the Bath-based firm Rotork.
The group consists of the in the in country financial directors . The age of the group ranged between late 20s and early 50s. Each year the group would meet for its annual international conference. This Bath-based firm has offices across the world, making it truly global. Each office has an FD. Almost all of these are drawn from the local population. This means that the group is truly international with over 20 nationalities represented.
We were asked to augment these 3-4 day conferences with some fun team-building activities. These included: racing Honda pilots, quad biking, archery, laser clay shooting, canoeing, high ropes courses, raft building and many other activities which kept them coming back for more. Indeed these were so successful that they continued for 8 years.

"I wanted to thank you, on behalf of the General Manager and the Management Team for the excellent event you ran for us. Firstly, it met all our objectives, creating an ideal environment for team building between functional ‘Levels’. In addition, your attention to detail, safety and creativity to achieve our objectives was outstanding. I really appreciated your customer focus and continued communication in getting the design and costs for the event ’just right’. We would certainly use your services again, and I'd be happy to talk to any prospective clients about what our event was like and what we achieved from it." Training and Development Manager, Hewlett Packard
Many thanks for putting together and managing our course last week from which we have received very positive feedback from all involved and from the wider community who have witnessed changes in behaviour since our return the challenge
Senior Engineer, Airbus
Thank you very much for organising such a good team building day. The feedback from everyone was that it was very worthwhile and fun. We all learnt a lot about ourselves and each other and the team were clearly impressed by the activities both inside and out
