WORKSHOP OVERVIEW
The Greeks understood the notion of a healthy mind in a healthy body, Hippocrates said that – “walking is the best medicine”.
"A healthy mind in a healthy body", was a favourite phrase of Harry S Truman, 33rd president of the United States.
The motto of the sports company ASCICS -Anima Sana In Corpore Sano, is saying - "A healthy soul in a healthy body. "
So, it's not a new idea. In our increasingly fast unpressured world where there are increasing levels of poverty and wealth these problems have come to the fore presenting as type 2 diabetes, obesity and stress with all of it's associated diseases and the behavioural problems.
Young people are particularly badly affected and are facing increasing levels of stress and external pressures, whilst, agents which may have served to build resilience are being reduced. This workshop aims to give some guidance for the difficult times ahead.
